A MESSAGE FROM THE PRINCIPAL

Dear Parents and Families,

Welcome to another exciting school year at Grimes Elementary School! As the principal, it is my pleasure to extend a warm greeting to all our new and returning families. Our school is a place where each child’s educational journey is nurtured with care, enthusiasm, and a commitment to excellence.

We are proud of the vibrant and supportive community that makes our school a unique and enriching environment for learning and growth. Our dedicated team of teachers and staff work tirelessly to provide a safe, engaging, and inclusive atmosphere where every student can thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.

This year, we are eager to continue our tradition of fostering a love for learning through innovative teaching practices, a strong curriculum, and a wide range of extracurricular activities. Our educational approach focuses on the three R’s: Rigor, Relationships, and Resilience. We believe that challenging our students intellectually, building strong and supportive relationships, and nurturing their resilience will prepare them for lifelong success.

We believe that education is a partnership between the school and home, and we value the active involvement of our parents and families. Your support and engagement are vital to the success of our students, and we encourage you to participate in school events, join the PTO, and communicate regularly with teachers.

To ensure smooth and effective communication, we will be using ParentSquare as our main tool for staying in touch with families. ParentSquare is an all-in-one platform that allows for easy communication between the school and home, keeping you informed about important dates, events, and opportunities for involvement. Please make sure to sign up and regularly check ParentSquare for updates and messages.

In addition to academic excellence, we prioritize the development of character and values in our students. Our school community is built on the PBIS values of respect, responsibility, and safety, and we strive to instill these principles in our daily interactions and lessons.

Throughout the year, we will keep you informed through ParentSquare, our school website, newsletters, and social media channels. Please do not hesitate to reach out to us with any questions or concerns. We are here to support you and your child every step of the way.

Thank you for entrusting us with the education and well-being of your children. Together, we can make this a memorable and successful year for everyone.

Warmest regards,

Tim Cradic

Mission

Inspiring and challenging students through diverse opportunities.

Vision

The Burlington Community School District strives to have a profoundly positive impact on each student’s adult quality of life brought about by the students’ individual and collective educational experience.

Exit Outcomes

The Burlington Community School District supports all students achieving skills and abilities to become productive citizens in the community in which they live. This includes academic goals, social competencies, employability skills, and technology skills. These skills are a guide for teachers and students in determining projects and areas of focus at various grade levels.
